26/03/2010 Ride the Hill Basildon Mountainboard Centre, all good to go! The new Mountainboard Centre in Basildon, Essex is nearly open. With final preparations happening at the moment the new site is really coming to life. Functioning as a satellite centre to our Surrey location, Basildon is a Mountainboard Centre with a big job to acheive, to help us raise the profile of Mountainboarding in the South East of England. Basildon Mountainboard Centre will be run by Steve Bickerton, a established sports enthusiast. With previous experience in outdoor sports, survival course, personal training and gym operations, as well as a mighty fine Mountainboard Instructor, Steve is a brilliant addition to the Ride the Hill family and is sure to help BMC to reach its heights. To contact Steve or Basildon Mountainboard Centre, call 0845 6436 720 or send a email. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 29/1/2010 Ride the Hill announces the 2010 Big Ramp Tour. For 2010, Ride the Hill have organised a tour around the U.K with our "Big Ramp", a mobile set-up used to demonstrate Freestyle Mountainboarding (Jumps, tricks and stunts) to crowds around the Country at different festivals, events and gatherings. The Big Ramp had been built in 2008 and has had major upgrades year on year to make it the spectacle it is today. Featuring a awesome 3 story high tower roll-in and a big 6 foot high jump, the Big Ramp is not just showing itself as the pinnacle of Freestyle Mountainboarding, but a big desire for riders around the country to come and have a go. We will be joined on our tour by the resident Ride the Hill Team as well as guests. --------------------------------------------------- 13/1/2010 Ride the Hill opens Surrey first Ski Resort. Blessed with the snowfall throughout December 2009 and January 2010, the team at Ride the Hill and Priory Farm worked throughout the day and night to prepare the ski lift and slopes, ready for the opening of the first ever Ski Slope in Surrey! On Wednesday 6th January 2010, we opened to the public for Skiing, Snowboarding and Sledging. We saw over 200 people in 1 week, all with their own kit and all had done their sports before, meaning we could concentrate on making the slope as fun as we could. We made centrefold in the local paper, The Surrey Mirror, featured on a Sky News report (filmed from the SkyCopter) and had 2 days of promotion on Mercury FM, our local radio station.
