Henri Brisson

RTH - Hey Henri!

Henri - Hi

RTH - Great to talk to you mate, thanks for your time! Allons y........... What is your role?

Henri - I guess you could call me the Frenchy of the team.

RTH - The resident Frenchman hey!? So tell us abit about yourself......

Henri - I've been mountainboarding since 2002  back in the old days, I was really into freeride. My first time on a board was when I rode with a kite on the beach. After that I tried downhill boarding. The problem is, where I live, it's difficult to ride and meet riders, because there is no Mountainboard Centres where we can ride. So you  have  to do everything by yourself... Freeride, street, skate park, are all you can do...

RTH - Still though, that is not bad going, but it does always help to have someone to ride with. Who are your main influences?

Henri - I feel my riding has been influenced a lot by my brother (Charles Brisson), Alexandre Bietrix, Diego Anderson and Rémi Béthoux. All of them are French and have a unique style.

RTH - They are all really cool guys and have done loads for the sport in France. What about riding spots? Where do you like to ride?

Henri - My favourite place to ride is obviously the XBP park, but I also enjoy the Payole mountain park in the South of France, Wanyi park in Belguim, and the Viking park in the North of France.

RTH - Sounds amazing, that is what it is all about dude. What are you looking forward to the most in 2010?

Henri - This year, I'm really looking forward to learning some new tricks. And I would like to develop mountainboarding in my region in France, but it's also going to be cool to make some crazy videos.

RTH - Sweet! Make sure you send us some copies of any vids you make! What is your favourite trick at the moment mate? And what are you wanting to learn this year?

Henri - My favourite tricks is backside rodeo. But, for  me, the most sensationnal is laid out backflips. And I'd love to learn cork 540.

RTH - Cork 5's....... I think everyone has those on their list at the moment! What is your favourite thing about being on the team?

Henri - The best thing about being on the Ride the Hill Team for me is the facility to learn new things,  because there is such a high riding level in this team they have helped me a lot to improve my technique and my ride style. And with them I was able to meet great people, crazy riders and mad spots.

RTH - That is cool man, we all love having you on board too mate! What board are you riding at the moment?

Henri - My set up is a 35 long 15 ply TRAMPA, with channel Trucks, MBS F3 Ratchet Bindings, MBS Rockstar Pro Hubs and Tyres. For me that's the most trusted board I have ever riden. And I believe trusted boards are so important!

RTH - Second that mate! Having faith in your kit is so important! What is your happiest Mountainboard memory?

Henri - My happiest Mountainboard memory is when I went riding in Vichy (France), with the MTBB team. The spot was located just in front of the “Puy de Dôme” and I could ride and enjoy the view in the day time, then at night we had a crazy party: good spot, good food, good vibes, good people, good weather, to sum up it really was a good trip!

RTH - Sounds it. We would love to have been there! Looking back though mate, you have had some good times, but what is your best Mountainboard Acheivement?

Henri - My best Mountainboard achievement is when I won two freestyle stages out of four in the French cup in 2008. One in Paris, and one in ”la Moulière” (French Alpes). That was a great experience. Both events took place at night which was a great challenge and was really exciting.

RTH - Now that is something to brag about! We love night airs. Is there anything you want to say before we finish mate?

Henri - I would like to take the opportinuty to thank:  kitesk8, and of course Andy Packer for his help, kindness and advices.

RTH - Thanks for your time Henri! We hope you are ripping and representing in France. Last words?

Henri - Ride carefully, have fun, and see you soon. Bye.
