Andy Packer

RTH - Hi Andy.

Andy - Hi,

RTH - Tell us about yourself....

Andy - I guess you could call me the pie eating manager of the team.

RTH - And how long have you been riding?

Andy - I've been mountainboarding for a long old time, since 99, so 11 years now but back in the old days, I was really into rugby, surfing and Clangers.

RTH - Who are your main influences?

Andy - I feel my riding has been influenced a lot by Chris McCarthy, Jereme Leafe, Diego Anderson and Tom Kirkman.

RTH - And you favourtie riding spot?

Andy - My favourite place to ride is Cleeve Hill but I also enjoy XBP Mountainboard Centre and Freeriding in the woods.

RTH - What is your perfect day?

Andy - A perfect day for me would start off with eggs on toast, then a little kick around with the old egg shaped football, heading to XBP after for a foam shred, then maybe a cheeky blast down the Slopestyle. Then I'd kick back in the grass with some peeps and watch the day fade away!

RTH - What are you looking forward to for 2010?

Andy - This year I'm really looking forward to going grey, and pulling all my hair out till I’m as bald as a eagle over running this bloody Big Ramp Tour, but it's also going to be cool to manage the goof troop again.

RTH - What are your favourite things?

Andy - My favourite roast dinner is lamb and I'd love to learn Frontside Rodeo 900’s, that would be so rad I think my head would explode, luckily I don’t think I will ever learn them, so I haven’t gotta worry about that anytime soon!

RTH - Who do you like riding with?

Andy - Riding with Dave Compton gets me really going because we have ridden together for RTH since the start, it is always friendly banter, but it is great to egg each other on!

RTH What is the best part of the RTH team for you?

Andy - The best thing about being on the Ride the Hill Team is running it, because what I says goes!

RTH - What set up do you ride?

Andy - My main set-up is a 35 long TRAMPA with TRAMPA Vertigo Trucks, Ride Contraband Bindings, TRAMPA Superstar Prototypes and Alpha tyres. Best board ever! But I also have a noSno and Hyline for special occasions!

RTH - What is your happiest Mountainboard memory?

Andy - Too many, 11 years is a long time to pick one out! Being there at the start and seing it get to where it is, I would never have tought it when I first stood on a board, it changed my life!

RTH - What is your best achievement?

Andy - My best Mountainboard achievement is coming 2nd at the TRAMPA Challenge 08 Night Air, beating the World Champion, who came 3rd!

RTH - Any last words?

Andy - So long and get off your arse and go ride!
