A Little bit about us....

All terrain boarding (ATB) or mountainboarding crosses snowboarding with skateboarding. Essentially, an ATB is a snowboard with 4x4 skateboard wheels and a set of multidirectional steering suspension trucks.  The rider surfs downhill, using snowboard techniques to steer and shed off speed through the wheels and trucks.  The feeling is very much a combination of the exhilaration of snowboarding and wave surfing combined.

Started around 1993 in both the USA and in the southwest of England.  Mountain boarding has grown from a small idea as a new way to have fun, into a highly successful alternative and accessible sport.

Our vision is to become the leading European Mountainboard specialists, particularly within the areas of tuition, standards and pioneering the growth of the sport. To help us achieve this, we work very closely with the ATBA-UK, the U.K’s governing body for Mountainboarding.

Ride the Hill is currently one of the leading UK providers of mountainboard services to the public and was established in 2000.

To date, Ride the Hill has -

  • Organised the world’s first major international Mountainboard competition, the noSno Big Air Challenge.
  • Exhibited at major adventure sports exhibitions around Europe.
  • Operated unique schemes for local councils, specialising in alternative activities for young people with challenging behaviour.
  • Designed the most comprehensive Mountainboard tuition syllabus within Europe, focusing on the highest levels of safety and tuition standards.
  • Successfully taught over 80,000 beginners to ride a Mountainboard.
  • Set up and established over 10 Mountainboard Centres throughout Europe.
  • Designed our own Mountainboard range, specifically based on entry level riders and what is needed out of a board to get started.
